Council Assembly on Wednesday 11 June saw Councillor Peter John re-elected as Leader of the Council followed by him announcing the new Cabinet for 2014/15.

The full list of cabinet appointments is as follows, but a special mention has to go to East Walworth Councillor Darren Merrill, who is now Cabinet Member for Environment and Recycling.

Councillor Martin Seaton was also re-elected as Chair of the Borough, Bankside and Walworth Community Council.

And Councillor Rebecca Lury will be continuing in her role as Chair of the Health, Adult Social Care, Communities and Citizenship Scrutiny Sub-Committee.

We also appointed four deputy cabinet members – all newly elected Councillors who we are sure will do a great job!
